Oakwood Resource Centre

Oakwood Resource centre is located in Northenden and provides a safe environment where people who use the service are valued, encouraged and appreciated for their individuality and abilities. The staff address the physical, emotional and cultural needs of people using the service and assist with making their lives as purposeful as possible by providing a variety of in house and external activities. People who use the service are empowered to make as many choices and decisions as possible that will influence their day-to-day lives. The Day Services provides various community activities that take place on a regular basis, for example, short walks, access the swimming pool, hydrotherapy, shopping trips, visits to the local cafe and day trips out to places of interest. At Oakwood itself there are several activities varying from music therapy, art and craft, tabletop games, computer studies, massage, aromatherapy, communication and rebound therapy.
