Wythenshawe Park

Raking up grass cuttings and leaves


This Outreach service is situated in the heart of Wythenshawe Park in a beautiful location within the Horticultural Centre. The site offers the opportunity for people to develop their skills and knowledge in horticulture and to look at the world of work. We work closely with the Leisure staff on the Park.People have the opportunity to take part in the following tasks;

Weeding
Raking up grass cuttings and leaves
Preparing beds for sewing
Dead heading Hoeing a planted area
Working in the glasshouses
Pruning
Use of tools
Use of lawnmowers
Tool recognition
Cleaning the base room

Working in the park shop - taking money, dealing with customers alongside staff from the community farm. Further development will take place in the near future involving other agencies sharing this beautiful park.
