Manchester Adult Placement Service
Manchester Adult Placement Service (MAPS) arranges placements for people in the homes of paid carers (also known as Adult Placement providers) for people who are learning disabled, physically disabled, with mental health needs and older people. The service can provide long term placement as part of a family / household or respite care to provide a break. There is also a Sitting and Befriending service.
Customers
The people who use the service are referred via their Care Manager or Social Worker.
MAPS assesses, approves, trains, supports and monitors people who
wish to take on this role as carers of vulnerable adults.
MAPS is registered with the Care Quality Commision (CQC).At their latest inspection the service was rated as Excellent.

The most recent inspection was in October 2008 and an additional 'compliance plus' rating was given for standard 4.2.1 - largely a result of work with the 'our service our say' group who advise on service delivery.
