Short Breaks Service

The Short Breaks service enables people to maintain living in a family setting with family or carers, We offer short breaks ( respite) that meet both the individual need and those of carers. The Breaks are flexible from 1 day to 2 weeks in duration dependent on need and request. Initial referrals are made via the Care Manager who will discuss allocation of short breaks.

Support is provided to ensure that we meet individual needs. The staff team will promote the independence of each individual and support them to lead fulfilled lives - meeting all personal care needs; maintaining and developing relationships; maintain a healthy and culturally or religiously specific diet; continuing any social/ leisure activities; meeting any need for physical assistance; meeting any other need identified in an individual's support plan.

We support people with a range of abilities, levels of support and complexities all will be supported in a person centred approach.

We have 4 four bedded properties and 1 three bedded property in Manchester. 4 of the properties have adapted facilities to support people who need ground floor or specialised equipment.

The service is registered with the Commision for Social Care Inspection (csci) under the Care home regulations. We are inspected on an annual basis.   On our most recent inspections all five houses were rated as giving a good service.
