MLDP's supported accommodation provides opportunities for people to live in their own communities with an appropriate level of support and work with people to ensure that they are able to make the choices needed to lead fulfilled lives.

Supported accommodation is designed to enable people to live in their own homes in the community with support from a committed and well-trained support team.   Houses in the same part of the city are staffed by a team of staff who work rotas 24 hours a day - we call these groupings of houses with their staff teams 'networks'.

All day-to-day living support is provided to ensure that each person's needs are met appropriately. The staff team will promote the independence of each person and support them to lead fulfilled lives - meeting all personal care needs; maintaining and developing relationships; maintain a healthy and culturally or religiously specific diet; continuing any social/ leisure activities; meeting any need for physical assistance; meeting any other need identified in a person's care plan.

We offer a selection of different properties across Manchester - from Wythenshawe in the south to Harpurhey and Blackley in the north. These include options for people who want to live on their own or to share with three or four other people. The properties are either housing association properties or Manchester City Council properties. Some properties are ground floor only and have been adapted to meet the needs of a person who uses a wheel chair.

We are working to improve the accommodation on offer, working with housing associations and council colleagues to achieve this.  Our first newly built shared-ownership scheme opens for its first tenants in November 2008.

Each scheme is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a domiciliary care agency.  All have received inspection ratings of excellent. - more information below.
